I am going to do a large blog in your toilet!
The animation festival started on friday and went through to sunday. I did not win any prizes, but i was fortunate enough to receive ticket number 69.
The festival was pretty rad and i enjoyed viewing all the crazy animations!
Here is a link to the page that you should join for next time!

About Me
- Tom Rodwell
- Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia
- Welcome to the world of tom Rodwell, compressed into a series of 1's and 0's. Here I am, in virtual form. You could never know me, but feel like I am your best friend, your guider, and why? Because I sit and push buttons that reflect my every thoughts. No I joke, that's a load of rubbish! My names Tom, I am an animator, and I am enjoying my life. I don't think ahead much, I just sort of do things, and then everything else fits around that. All my pets are dead. I need coffee to function on the morning. I weaned myself off sugar in my coffee because other wise I'd be eating like 6 teaspoons of sugar a day, and that's just unnecessary! When I'm around people and someone is making a bad joke, i get extremely uncomfortable, i feel sorry for them, my sympathy laugh is horrible, even though I've been practising it for years. I associate new people I see with people already in my life or famous people. If I find someone who I can't associate with someone else, that person will stand out to me. Anywho, that's enough jibberjabber. You probably stumbled onto this blogpage by accident, so I bid you good day sir and/or ma'am

Ima drop a B-log in yo face!
Hello Bloggers, Friends, whatever you all are!
Here comes a nice mandatory blog, where I inform you of my progress as an internet child!
joking, of course, I love blogging, I am really getting into it now, with the ability to post pictures, videos, links, and just by goofy and express yourself.
As of right NOW, I have posted 6 blogs, 6 undesirable topics, 6 beautiful tangents to my mind. No I joke, again, the majority of them are probably me rambling about otters. Gosh otters are cool though, they're like snake-humans of the sea, the marine critters of the blue, whiskers, a tail, that weird noise they make that sounds kind of like your parents, that one time you walked in to see if your mum could help you make Gelato, but it looked like her and Dad were doing pushups on the bed.
Back to Blogger breifly, I have altered the parameters to suit my liking, a nice red background, my fish are swimming franticly. I love that about blogger, it really is like you own little house, no one will have the same one, everyone is unique, the customization is just pure bliss to my young mind. I also like the interactions that can occur, the connectivity yo, man it's so easy! Just follow the purple writing bro!
I'm just as weird to other people as I am to you, don't worry my anonymous alter ego, is in fact, not alter, it's regular. Here is me being just as normal as I am any other day. :D
Now, I do believe blogger is equipped with a tagging system, it's like our blogs have all been low-jacked. If the FBI are ever looking for your ass, and trust me they will be, they'll "do an internet" and find you super dooper quick! I love it, It's like our lives are being categorized, although this have an obvious privacy downfall!
But yeah, I have done a generic tagging system with the use of 'MPI104' where appropriate and then being a bit immature and tagging things like 'poop' for fun.
Don't feel like you have to miss out! You could be wading through the poop jokes if you're reading my constant posts and updates. Oh please click me baby cakes
Okay so moving on to something totally different, 'Delicious'. This site confuses me. Is it meant to be like a secondary source for finding interesting sites? Just a big pool of links and clickable literacy. Either way, I'm sorry but I got a bit lost. I'm alright now, I think. I've bookmarked some websites, created lots of stacks with some personal picture links, and then ones to my blog. All in all I think my Delicious account is thriving, with the potential of complete failure at a medium threat!
so here's a favourite of mine Tigers!
Okay so finally, my beautiful Flickr account with all it's photos and shizz. I think i maxxed out and uploaded a fair few photos to flickr, maybe 8 or so, and favourited all the classics like liam neeson and otters. Oh i also started a Group dedicated to Liam Neeson, so check that out here and give it a whizz. I am liking Flickr the most out of all these things we've set up, although blogger is also quite cool Flickr seems to be predominately an image sharing/viewing site.
So thanks again for reading, and I hope you have a good day/night!
Remember, the day you find a pirate otter, you let me know.

Swab Me Deck Yarrrr
Hello there friends and various other terrestrial blobs.
Oh what's that, oh..
Oh it's another famed picture of Tom at the library, but what's that? Oh wow, this time he's in the family history room. Sadly, our time was cut short yesterday, due to my depleting laptop battery. But no no no, not today. Today I am plugged in, and so is my laptop. Aha see what I did there, I made a joke! One interesting thing I stumbled upon yesterday was 'anti jokes'. That is, a joke that has an anti punch line, but still makes you laugh as much as the predicted punchline would.
For example,
Q: What's worse than a worm in your apple?
A: The Holocaust
Q: A dog walked into a bar
A: He was quickly shown out because the bar had a no pets policy
I LOVE this kind of humour, this unexpected, blunt, somewhat slapstick comedy, where we are taken by surprise. Another comic form of language I use much too often is the 'and then' joke or phrase. The 'and then' joke is where someone will say something, say a line or ask a question, and then abruptly cut themselves off or finish someones line by using a synonym of what they are referring too. This is quite poorly explained but let me give you an example. Unfortunately many of my examples are sexual, so please, bare with me.
"Hey we're going skiing, do you guys want to come?"
"Yeah okay, and we'd also like to go skiing with you"
For you see, it's the art of implication and the use of synonyms that really sells these kinds of jokes.
It's implied this person is 'coming' but uh..in a different way first. Sorry about that, as I said, this humour is riddled with sexual innuendo.
Anyway, all stupid humour aside, here is a site that offers funny stories and poorly a constructed rating system. People post up funny situations or scenarios that have occurred to them or others. It's a bit like Facebook but without the ducklips selfie photos and depressing, attention seeking statuses. Think of this site as 'all the Facebook statuses that make you laugh and go "hey, I want to like that"'
I have been in a 'pirate' sort of mood these last few weeks. And no I don't mean that I've been mindlessly torrenting files from the internet, I mean legit PIRATE, as in YARRRR. Well not quite literally, It's not like I've been sailing around Somalia commandeering sea vessels of the innocent. When I say pirate, I mean I've been throwing out all the classic lines, using the jokes "why are pirates pirates?" "because they ARRRR", and contemplating dressing in black ropes and gouging out my own eye. What is the deal with that, the pirates have it quite rough, don't you think? They have one of their legs missing, and replaced by a piece of wood. Like, who performed that surgery? was the Pirate just chilling in the ICU of the hospital saying "yarr get me another packet of chips please". Secondly, they have a missing eye, that's like all your depth gone. And half your frontal vision just gone. They are constantly on the water. Seriously that would get so boring, i bet most of them don't even have black ops, they're just stuck with all the crappy racing games from EB Games that no one wants buy. All the pre-owned disks that cost like <$10. And so as if all this isn't bad enough, they then have to sit birds or parrots or gullahs or whatever those things are on their shoulders all day! How much shit do you think comes out of those things. I bet the pirates don't even have fabric softener for the clothes and no one thought to buy them some Ajax to get all the bird poo stains out.
So heres an animation I made a few years back in pivot.
This is one of my best animations, not necessarily the spacing, smoothness or anything, but the backgrounds, sounds, 3D positioning, and funny characters.
Here is another animation I made: Underlined Text is purple and Clickable
This animation is not good at all, in fact it's quite terrible! but it was made a long time ago, and reflects my interest in animating. It also has a ridiculous amount of views on youtube!!
Ok moving on, here's a nice picture of my VIS101 lecturer as a boat. He'd have a nice rudder, if you know what i'm saying. A lot of the time you won't.
As you can see he's looking pretty good, got the nice beard and glasses. But here is the first picture of him I drew, our first official date (I joke that's weird) (actually this whole blog is weird so i'm just gunna let it slide)
Yeah so I added a few love hearts around this one, in case he bumped into me and the book opened and happened to be on this page...ah one can dream.
Okay, so here's something I've been thinking for a while, does anyone reckon Matt Barron looks a bit like Sergeant Batista from the tv series Dexter. Okay maybe not from these two photos, but I swear they look a little alike. Can we see if he can start wearing Hawaiian shirts and a bowler hat to our workshops? That would be nice, I'd like that.
Okay amigos, this has been a long one, thanks for sticking it out. Happy blogging! Someone get me a coffee

Chillin In Da Library
Hey there everyone, Tom Rodwell here, chillin' in the library once again. It's a cold rainy day and my mind is set on video games, so lets get this outta the way. no I joke, my heart is in it.
Firstly, I'd like to say that I tinkered around under the Blogger bonnet, and now have some workable, sexy, clickable links, and a sleek header that could have crafted by Jesus himself.
Secondly, and more importantly, but quite sidetrack to this subject; My walk cycle animation for VFX101 is coming along quite nicely and i have uploaded some photos to the photo sharing site 'photobucket'. This means I have like 5 different social networking accounts, and they all work in sync with each other. How lovely.
I linked the photos just below with that awesome supernerd html thingy. I always feel so nerdy and like some sort of computer hacker when i'm typing in all those 'greater than' signs (<) and forward slashes and such. Hopefully I type it in correctly or I'll look like a massive D-bag.

And here is an Animated version of the walk cycle in a program called Pivot
Pivot Walk Cycle
I would recommend Pivot to anyone who want to do some basic 2D animating, it's incredibly easy to use. Download it now!
Click This To Download Pivot Animator
Now thirdly, I'd like to talk about Delicious!
I started using Delicious and at firs I found it quite complicated, well the word 'stack' was throwing me off a bit, but otherwise it seems pretty cool!!
You can check mine out if you want
Delicious link is clickable...mmm
Okay so thanks for reading, and i'll catch you all later!!

Otters - the real deal
My fascination with otters is getting to a dangerous level.
After realizing that all good blog posts should include a hefty number of links, to branch out the world wide web just a littel bit more, I have decided to post about otters.
Otters are in sync with beavers (heh), seals, platypus. I mean, really? Are they all just the same animal, with minimal variety.
Here is an example of a classic otter face, and why it's important to stay close to our marine critters. Otter

Happy Chappy
Hey guys, making my third post here. It's been a while I know, but I've been quite sick!
Now it's time to get back into the rhythm and post some blogs for me many many followers to read. (I joke).
I am just about to set up a Delicious account and I will surely link that up here in a HTML fashion...if you know what I'm saying *raised eyebrows*. My Delicious account will be oh so tasty!
I am currently residing in my home town; Port Macquarie, as you may be able to tell by the labels or tags or whatever they are called! And here is a snapshot of me in the public library, using their internet, as I have nones of it at home :(
